Home: Artwork created for @brightprairies blog and commerce page. It's a long process to make the work I do. Lots of details in the drawing, printing and assembling. I do most of my artwork completely alone; it's hard not having human interaction. There is a point when one has to become brave to be by yourself for hours. While I sit alone I face fears, all that is past, present and future. I ponder my childhood: the ritual of collecting flowers for my mother or playing in the dirt and grass with my siblings. As I make this piece I mediate on Midwest sunsets, long hours running outside, and the simplistic repetition of field after field after field. It's HOME, the place where vulnerability, growth and beauty collides.
