Hope for Spring

Crocus flowers brought bright pops of color to the prairie this week.

And Hope for Spring arrived at the farm too. Here she is!

Hope is my niece’s mare’s foal, and I had the privilege of a visit a few days after she was born. She’s a bit shy, but the resident animal whisperer, my dad, has a way of making all critters feel calm and comfortable.  So much possibility here!  She will be in training soon enough.  In the meantime, her mama and the senior mare in the barn seem to have a close eye on everything!
